”I enjoy being in a campus environment and meeting new friends. The options offered for socialization are really enjoyable. Extra studying may be needed depending on the individual — I like it!”

“… we all have fun while we’re learning. The material is challenging in a good way. I’m also enjoying spending time with people again and getting my social skills back!”

“As a first-generation college student, it feels a little strange to be here. My parents don’t understand what is involved in going to college and living on campus. Now I’ll be the expert on what I need, and can share that with my siblings, too.”

Course Description

You will choose one, non-credit, academic track to focus on during the academic day. Class sizes are kept small to allow for an engaging course and are taught by UW–Madison staff and Badger Precollege instructors who have the same level of commitment and involvement from Badger Summer Scholars as they would from college students.

After class blocks are over, you will participate in a series of college preparatory workshops, designed to help you become familiar with the college application process and college life. You will also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of residence hall activities and explore UW Madison’s lake-side campus.
